Diro Systems uses A-Server technology to help charities reduce the cost of IT support and data backup and recovery

Enterprise class service delivered as SME budgets help charities reduce the complexity and cost associated with technical support and disaster recovery

Lochristi, Belgium January 27, 2009, A-Server, a leading supplier of cloud computing DAAS.com , data backup and recovery solutions has announced details of the work of its growing channel which now includes over 100 partners across Europe. Diro Systems, an A-Server partner based in the UK, now has over 100 desktop PC s and Servers under remote management and data backup primarily within charities across the south of England.

As Patrick Anigbo, Chief Executive of Diro System explains, outsourced management of servers and pc s brings the greatest benefit to many organisations, especially within the charity sector that tend to have limited budget for IT staff.

Diro already has 10 customers who have placed their IT systems under remote management using the A-Server platform and a growing number who are also using the backup and data recovery solution. Typically, the fixed monthly fee we charge for covering technical support and data protection is considerably less than having a part time IT administrator on staff and allows our clients to focus on their core activities.

Diro has initially delivered the A-Server powered remote monitoring and BDR solutions to the charity sector, an area Anigbo has over a decade of experience within a senior IT level, We are a relatively small company but we have built a strong reputation by understanding our customers operating environment and business requirements. This is our value add and A-Server provide us with an enterprise class solution we can deliver to customers that would normally be beyond their IT budgets.

A-Server provides to channel partners a complete white label appliance and managed service aimed at helping small and medium sized businesses protect valuable data and servers. The A-Server Backup Data Recovery BDR appliance uses Instant Virtualisation Technology to recover data faster than traditional drive rebuilds. A-Server also offer a bare metal restore and includes overnight shipping of a restored-from-last-backup BDR appliance in the event of a major disaster that renders a customers site out of commission such as fire, earthquake or flooding.

Julie McCombie, Head of IT at Retail Trust, commented, In the past, when things have gone wrong with our IT systems, the cost and delay in calling out IT technicians has been a real issue for us. Working with Diro Systems allows us to reduce our IT costs and proactively ensure our systems are working ensuring our data is fully protected in the event of a hardware failure.

A-Server provide training, technical support and the datacenter capacity for off-site replication while local channel partners such as Diro-Systems handle implementation and customer relationships. For small business customers this provides the benefit of working with a trusted and local IT supplier but backed by a much larger service provider to ensure the highest possible levels of service. The solution follows on the success of technology partner Zenith InfoTech which launched a similar service in the US last year that already has 400,000 computers under monitoring and over 9000 installations of its Backup and Data recovery service all sold exclusively via a network of small, local IT service providers.
